It’s getting harder and harder for us gals to fall pregnant. Thanks to the contraceptive pill, toxins, processed foods and no doubt a myriad of other reasons. Plus we’re having children later in life when we’re less fertile. Anyways, if you’re planning to have a baby in the next 2, 5, hell even 10 years, then there are some things you should consider today. *
No doubt you’ve heard this saying before? “Ab’s are made in the kitchen.” I recently told someone I’ve been working with the amount of body fat we have is, in my opinion, approximately 80% nutrition and 20% exercise. Isn’t that good news? All the people who struggle to find time to exercise or have injuries preventing some movements can still feel better about themselves and live healthier lives. If they want to badly enough and if they choose to make changes.
If we all accepted ourselves, and loved ourselves more, I wonder if the diet and weight loss industry would even exist. And would it mean the end of the yo-yo diet? And the end of the vicious weight loss and weight gain battle?
I’ve seen it in myself and many others over the years. Chances are you’ve been on a diet or weight loss plan at some time in your life too. Or maybe you’re looking to start one. Well I’m here to tell you, that they just don’t work!!!!! I don’t know what the actual figures are but I bet as little as 1 out of 1,000 people who lose weight on a diet keep it off. Maybe it’s 1 out of 10,000??!!! We see this pattern of yo-yo dieting in celebrities, people we know and, if you’ve gone though it too, we see it in ourselves.
I baked....and it was delicious!! Seriously though, that never happens. So this creation must be fool proof. Best of all, zero processed stuff and naturally sweet. Vincent and I even ate some for breakfast the next morning. Give it a go and let me know what you think. And feel free to share it on your page. :)
It’s easy to think “Why bother working out if I’m never going to be a size 10?” Or “I don’t have time to go the gym often so what’s the point?” But the truth is, that every little bit counts and you need to change the way you think about exercise. You guys don’t need me to tell you that exercise is good for your heart and your bones etc. Or that it’s also great for lifting your mood and making you feel good. So I won’t go on about that....
Keep it simple! Here's my five tips for boosting your health and fitness that you can start today!
Are you into the whole raw, GF, Vegan this, Paleo that thing? No doubt you think that because I’m a personal trainer who also practices and teaches yoga that I must be. Well, I couldn’t be farther from it.
A little joke Hubby and I have whenever we bring home a take away meal or treat:
Hubby - “What you got there?”
Me - “Raw monkey balls with a side of Kale enema. Would you like some?”
Hubby - “Hmmm that sounds amazing but I’m doing a juice fast today.”
This is probably ironic for me to say, because I use both facebook and Instagram for business, but in my opinion social media is bad for our self-confidence. I thank my lucky stars that all this wasn’t around when I was an insecure teenager. Hell, it’s bad enough seeing perfect bodies all over the net as a self-assured, confident woman! In my day (haha, because I’m so old), I only had school peers, women at the mall, celebrities and maybe the odd magazine model to compare myself to. Wow have things changed!
If you know me, you know that I am queen of routine. I can happily get up at 6am and go to bed at 930pm every day. And eat at the same times every day. And it’s not a struggle for me to work out as soon as my munchkin has gone down for his day-nap. But throw in a few nights of broken sleep and it all turns to custard (hmmm, did you say custard?).
